Fall Leaf Collection:
Fall leaf collection will begin on Monday, November 4th and will continue every Monday in November and December. In compliance with NJDEP Stormwater Management Guidelines, Manalapan Township’s policy is that all leaves must be placed in brown paper biodegradable compost bags since these bags will decompose at the same rate as the leaves inside of them. This also prevents loose leaves from clogging our drainage basins, which can result in flooding. You can purchase these bags from local retailers. No leaves will be collected that are not contained in these brown paper biodegradable bags.
Please place bagged leaves at the curb on Sunday night, not in the street, to ensure you will not miss any of the collections.
Brush and Tree Limbs are collected by the Garbage Company all year long.
Please use the following guidelines for brush and tree limbs:
Tied securely in bundles
4 foot maximum length
50 pounds maximum weight
2 bundle maximum each collection
Residents may also take their leaves to the Recycling Center themselves, however they must be in the biodegradable bags. Our Recycling Center is located at the Public Works Yard: 207 Route 522 (Freehold Road). It is opened Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
* Please note, there will be NO trash/bulk collection on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th. For those who have a Thursday collection day, your garbage will be collected on Saturday, November 30th.
