Free Disaster Preparedness (CERT) Training

Dec 17, 2021

Following major emergency events, first responders who provide fire, medical and community safety services will have to prioritize the use of their response resources.   Individual preparedness, as well as the ability to safely and effectively assist others, allows members of the community to care for themselves until more help arrives. The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical (emergency first aid) operations.

The Manalapan MRC-CERT is offering its annual CERT training program starting on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 7pm-10pm at the Manalapan Senior Center. Training will continue twice per week until the end of April.  Enrollment and materials are free of charge and open to individuals 16 years of age or older. Youth aged 16 and 17 years old may participate with a signed permission slip and waiver from their parents.

Persons interested in the training, or those with any questions, should contact CERT via email at

It’s a great way to give back to the community, and we hope you will consider signing up.
